[Archives] The Playoff Field is Set: Divisional Round

Divisional Playoff Saturday has arrived!

Now before we get started, a quick word on how things will proceed.

As you know, The Playoffs involve the points system (covered here and here).

But for the purposes of The Divisional round, there will be additional tiebreakers.

So the tiebreakers are as follows:

  • Number of games picked correctly, as normal.
  • The accumulated points total of the correct picks
  • The tiebreaker point total of the final ballgame of the weekend (Buffalo/KC)
  • The closest point total to the over/under total of the last matchup (Buffalo/KC) – which is 54 for this weekend (meaning the closest player to this total *IF WE GET TO THIS TIEBREAKER* Wins the pot!)

I anticipate this weekend’s games will go to tiebreakers, and this will ensure a single Winner for the round.

That’s the contingency plan.

Now that we’ve settled the mechanics, let’s set the table.

There are 17 players shooting at a pot of $340 for The Divisional.

Pot’s right.

Below is the spreadsheet for this week’s field:

FOR THE WEEK

  • The pot is $340
  • There are 17 players
  • Once again, each team has been picked. That’s parity in today’s National Football League
  • The underdog pick of the week is San Francisco to Win on the road at Green Bay. Although they are this weekend’s biggest underdog, Will Biggs, Tonya T, S Chupp, Jemremy C, & Jermaine are taking ’em.  Brave pick folks!
  • Although it isn’t unanimous, the popular choice this week is (obviously) Green Bay to Win that same game.  As we all know, it’s and any given Sunday Saturday League.

Alright. Time for some football.

Good Luck everybody.
