Divisional Playoff Saturday has arrived!
And the good news is that this week’s field is just as large as last week’s.
(in fact, it’s larger; one additional player has come into the fold)
Now, a quick word on how things will proceed.
As you know, The Playoffs involve the points system (covered here and here).
But for the purposes of The Divisional round, there will be additional tiebreakers.
So the tiebreakers are as follows:
- Number of games picked correctly, as normal.
- The accumulated points total of the correct picks
- The tiebreaker point total of the final ballgame of the weekend (TB/NO)
- The closest point total to the over/under total of the last matchup (TB/NO) – which is 52 for this weekend (meaning the closest player to this total *IF WE GET TO THIS TIEBREAKER* Wins the pot!)
I anticipate this weekend’s games will go to tiebreakers, and this will ensure a single Winner for the round.
That’s the contingency plan.
Now that we’ve settled the mechanics, let’s set the table.
There are 26 players shooting at a pot of $520 for The Divisional.
Pot’s right.
Below is the spreadsheet for this week’s field:
FOR THE WEEK
- The pot is $520
- There are 26 players
- Once again, each team has been picked. That’s parity in today’s National Football League
- The underdog pick of the week is Cleveland to Win on the road at Kansas City. Dawson, Emily, & Thelma like that pick. Pretty bold call!
- Although it isn’t unanimous, the popular choice this week is (no surprise) Kansas City to defeat Cleveland. Personally, I expect KC to remain a favorite until their season is over.
Alright. Time for some football.
Good Luck everybody.
