Week 1 is finally here!
And if you’re like me, you’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for it to come back.
Anyhow…we got us a ballgame tonight! Yeah, it’s between two teams I have no ties to but I don’t care; it’s football.
And with that comes another season of The Football Pick’Em!
Last year was so much fun, I couldn’t wait to get started again. I dunno about you, but I am truly happy to be back at it.
This time around, we’ve got some new faces but the pool has not changed. Around here, we pick the winners. That’s it. No spreads, money lines, over/under, none of that.
How This Works
For you new guys, our concept is simple: pick who you think is gonna Win on Gameday. The person that gets the most right Wins!
Our main rule around here is NO SPLIT POTS!
We have us a series of tiebreakers to determine a sole Winner, ’cause that’s how we roll (click here to check that out).
Sheets are due on Thursdays. I put out this post detailing the field & publish the picks for all to see. Updates are after each round of ballgames. The Monday Night Game decides the week’s champ ¾ of the time.
Once determined, the post declaring The Winner goes up after The Monday Night game. Then, Tuesday morning the new sheets are posted and we do it again.
It’s easy. You’ll get the hang of it.

For The Week
- the pot is $170
- there are 34 players
- There are no unanimous picks this week, but the majority like Tampa Bay tonight, the LA Rams on Sunday Night & Baltimore Monday Night
- the underdog pick of the week is Detroit at home taking on San Francisco. Three braves souls took that one (good luck Monique P, Thelma C, & AJ Donald)!
- Since this is the 1st Regular Season Game of the year, there is no reining champ. So this special shout out goes to Jeremy C, Chrissy L, Charlie C, & Aaron P – last year’s repeat Champions. Great stuff guys!
- Also, Jeremy C had an outstanding year. He was a repeat Regular Season Champion AND took down a monster Playoff Pot (Wildcard Weekend: $500). Let’s just say the money was good to him. Who’s gonna Win that kind dough this year?
