Welcome to Week 10 everyone!
As we are in the Bye weeks portion of the schedule, we can expect more tight races.
This seems to be a pretty safe bet based on the equation of the games themselves.
In a week with a full schedule there are 16 games. This increases the degree of difficulty in picking, so (theoretically) there are fewer heads in contention at the top.
With the slate of Bye weeks, however, there are typically 13 games on the weekly schedule. This compresses the standings. That is, there are fewer games making the predictions easier.
This particular week has 14 games to be played, starting tonight.
And of course that leads to some crowded standings. Haven’t you noticed?
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining.
Far from it, actually. I love it!
More people in the mix makes for plenty of excitement.
Those Monday Night ballgames get a lot more interesting, regardless of whether it’s a team Winning or the points total that determines our Champion.
Not to mention, the unpredictable nature of Pro Football really opens up the possibilities to everyone.
The way things have gone, it can honestly be stated (with confidence) that anyone can Win. That’s the beauty of the Pick ‘Em.
Since we’re talking about packed standings, this is an opportune time to mention the tiebreaker format.
If the total points doesn’t resolve matters, this is how a Winner will be crowned. In the event the tiebreaker format comes to pass, I will include the breakdown on how a Winner was determined in that final post for the week.
As the recent competitions have been so close, this seems like a perfect time to mention it.
Thank you for lending me your ear on this matter.
Now – let’s get to it!
This week we have 52 players shooting at a $260 pot.
Pot’s right.
(for those that don’t know: when wagering moolah, once the pot is considered “right” that means that the Winner can expect to gain that amount. In other words, “the house” is guaranteeing that specific amount in the prize pool. Regardless of what happens, if you Win you get that money – no excuses)
Here’s the field:
FOR THE WEEK
- the pot is $260
- there are 52 players
- there’s no unanimous pick this week, but most folks like Baltimore, Kansas City, Minnesota, and both Los Angeles teams
- the underdog pick this week has Randy M and N Don rolling with Tennessee, the big Road dog in LA. Good Luck you two!
- the reining Champ is Maurice R, who reached the top of the pile through a pretty impressive 14-out-of-15 showing to coast into The Winner’s Circle. Well done, my man! Can you really do it twice?
ANNOUNCEMENT: while I do my best to get each & every pick correct, sometimes I make mistakes. If I do mess up, just reach out to me (you can leave a comment below the post & I’ll fix it ASAP). I need to know before the affected game Kicks Off, otherwise, that puts the rest of the field at a competitive disadvantage. Sound good?
That’s it folks. Thanks for playing this week.
As always, enjoy the games and Good Luck.
