Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
May you and yours remain happy, healthy, well fed, well rested, & delighted by good football!
On that last point, Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays as the combination of family, food, and football are the order of the day.
How can you beat that combination? It’s not hard to be thankful for these blessings.
And speaking of thankful, this week I want to express my thankfulness for all of you – our field.
A few years ago at work, the manager of one of our contractors ran a pool for the folks there.
It was fun & enjoyable. I was impressed by how a few bucks could provide such a thrill!
As things go, he moved on to a better opportunity and (clearly someone had to keep it goin’) thus, the Football Pick ‘Em was born.
Fast forward a few short years and here we are.
Personally, this has been a rewarding experience that is immensely enjoyable!
So many things make our league and our community unforgettable.
In particular, I can honestly say that the new relationships formed, the added excitement each Sunday brings and the routine mechanics of the operation have been a blast.
There are so many people to thank for this. Truth is, many of you I’ve never even met but together we have found a way to make Football Season even more fun (hell, is that even possible?)
And on this special holiday, I wanted to share how thankful I am for you all.

We’re growing people. This week we have an even 60 players shooting at a pot of $300. (That’ll help that turkey go down quite nicely, right?)

(for those that don’t know: when wagering moolah, once the pot is considered “right” that means that the Winner can expect to gain that amount. In other words, “the house” is guaranteeing that specific amount in the prize pool. Regardless of what happens, if you Win you get that money – no excuses)

- there are 60 players
- there’s been no unanimous pick this year. That speaks to how crazy this season has been(!) but Buffalo, Dallas, Miami, Baltimore, and Philadelphia are among the heavy favorites according to The Field
- there are two notable underdog picks this week: Dawson and Kami C are taking road underdog Houston over Miami. And Dawn F and Kim R have picked visiting LAR over host Kansas City. Good luck folks!
- the reining Champ is Kami C Winning by an arm’s length over The Field. With the competition being so keen, a runaway like that is pretty impressive. Well done.
ANNOUNCEMENT: while I do my best to get each & every pick correct, sometimes I make mistakes. If I do mess up, just reach out to me (you can leave a comment below the post & I’ll fix it ASAP). I need to know before the affected game Kicks Off, otherwise, that puts the rest of the field at a competitive disadvantage. Sound good?
