Week 2 is here folks.
And you know that means: it’s time for some football.
So we have another interesting week on our hands.
Week 1 sure was a challenge, right? Well Week 2 certainly is no different.
Although each team has a game under its belt, there isn’t enough information to determine exactly how good each squad is (and “good” is pretty damn subjective anyhow).
Therefore, Week 2 is essentially the same dart thrown at the board.
Obviously some teams will reach 2-0, most look to be 1-1, and some are destined to stumble to 0-2 by week’s end. To what degree can the quality of a particular outfit be determined based on a hot (or cold) start?
I dunno.
And maybe that’s the point – nobody really knows. Hell, this year’s Super Bowl Champion may not even Win this month. Or maybe they don’t lose before Thanksgiving. No one knows.
And isn’t that the beauty of The Football Pick ‘Em?
We get to pit our smarts, guile, or lucky rabbit’s foot against the field to see how good we are–individually and collectively–at solving this Rubik’s cube called Pro Football.
I can’t tell ya how good half The League is, but I can tell ya it sure is fun to do this.
So let’s do this!
Week 2 sees another 46 people shoot at a pot of $230 (a nice, healthy pot) in this second go round.
Pot’s right.
(for those that don’t know: when wagering moolah, once the pot is considered “right” that means that the Winner can expect to gain that amount. In other words, “the house” is guaranteeing that specific amount in the prize pool. Regardless of what happens, if you Win you get that money – no excuses)
Here’s this week’s field:
- the pot is $230
- there are 46 players
- Once again, every team on the schedule this week has been picked. Looks like the darts are covering the entire board yet again.
- the underdog pick this week has Michaela, Shavon S, Tonya T, Nisa D & Sean C taking Atlanta to go on the road and beat Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles in Tinsletown. That’s how to call an upset. Good luck to the five brave souls!
- the reining Champ is Kirstin The G, who had a thrilling Win on the strength of that epic Monday Night clash. The first Champion of the new season is back to her Winning ways!
ANNOUNCEMENT: while I do my best to get each & every pick correct, sometimes I make mistakes. If I do mess up, just reach out to me (you can leave a comment below the post & I’ll fix it ASAP). I need to know before the affected game Kicks Off, otherwise, that puts the rest of the field at a competitive disadvantage. Sound good?
Okay, that’s it. Enjoy the game everyone.
And good luck.
