The Playoff Field is Set: Wildcard Round [Archives]

The Playoffs are finally upon us.

And I’m happy to say that we’ve got a healthy and robust field of competition.

I’m definitely looking forward to it.

So here’s how things are going to work.

There will be an update Saturday Night after the games, & then the Winner will be announced at the end of the day Sunday.

As you will notice below, the spreadsheet will show everyone’s picks (as usual) but the Points column is going to be the accumulated points of the games you got right.  The Tiebreaker column is the total points scored in the Cleveland/Pittsburgh game.

For a more thorough understanding of The Playoff format click this link.

Once the action starts, this will make more sense.

Speaking of action, there’s plenty to start us off.

UPDATE: Mike B has joined the field, bringing the pot to an even $500.  Also, Will B has corrected his points tiebreaker pick to 55 (for the Cleveland/Pittsburgh matchup).

We have an even 2 dozen players (24) shooting at a pot of $480.  That’s the best pot we have had to date.

Pot’s right.

Here’s the field below:

for the week

  • the pot is $480
  • there are 24 players
  • interestingly, every team was picked this week
  • the underdog pick of Wildcard Weekend is Indianapolis to defeat heavily favored Buffalo by Kevin S, Danielle W, & good ole Dawson.
  • conversely, the favorite of the Wildcard Round is Buffalo.  88% of the field has taken them to Win
  • Keep in mind the format for the Divisional Round will stay the same.  The stakes for the pool will stay the same throughout (including The Super Bowl)

Enough talk, let’s see some football.

Good Luck to all the players!
