A snoozefest Monday Night game brings Week 13 to a close.

And of course you know what that means: time to crown this week’s Pick’Em Champion.

And honestly, I feared this day would come.

Here’s the scenario: We’ve got a 4-way tie at the top.  And there are two players that have an identical total points number and the same number of Wins.

That means we go to tiebreakers.

Alright, let’s get it started!

1. Points

The Monday Night Game is the tiebreaker.  Simply predict the total combined points scored in the ballgame.

No resolution.  Both players are deadlocked with 47 points.
(48 were scored in the ballgame)

 

2. Winning Percentage

If #1 doesn’t get it, this one will…

No dice.  Same Win %.  Let’s move to the next step.

 

3. Underdog Picks

Going this far should be rare.  But just in case this tiebreaker involves use of the points spread. If you don’t know what that is, go here.

Now we’re getting somewhere.

The method used here is simple; we will count the number of underdog Wins each player secured using this link from Fox Sports.
(because it was the first one in the search result)

Player A  secured 3 underdog Wins
Player B  secured 3 underdog Wins

No resolution!  On to Tiebreaker #4.

 

4. Record Versus The Spread

There’s that dreaded S word again!

Once again, we’re going to use the Fox Sports link for the sake of ease.

So….here we go.

Player A  posted a record of 9-7 against the spread
Player B posted a record of 9-7 against the spread

This is getting crazy.

 

5. Best Record ATS Overall

And if that doesn’t do it, this damn sure better!

Now, to ENSURE we determine a Winner, I will go back to the last week both Players competed and compare their against the spread record to resolve the stalemate.

So…for the purposes of the tiebreaker, we are going back to Week 12 to break the tie.  And in Week 12..  (using this metric)

Player A posted a record of 12-2 against the spread
Player B posted a record of 9-5 against the spread

And we have our resolution.  Player A earns the checkmark!
