The wait is over!
WEEK ONE.
Can you believe it? After the long Offseason, it has returned to us. There’s nothing quite like Football Season.
Is there?
And this year comes with plenty of storylines. The can the Philadelphians repeat? Who’s got the real MVP…Buffalo or Baltimore? Is the thrower in Chicago any good? Is Kansas City still Winning The AFC?
Those are plenty of intriguing questions going into the season.
But we are a football pool. That is our business.
And I dunno about you, but I couldn’t wait to get this thing started!
And judging from the field to open the season, I think we all agree.
There’s just nothin’ like Football.
So let’s get it going.
How This Works
For you new guys, our concept is simple: pick who you think is gonna Win on Gameday. The person that gets the most right Wins!
Our main rule around here is NO SPLIT POTS!
We have us a series of tiebreakers to determine a sole Winner, ’cause that’s how we roll (click here to check that out).
Sheets are due on Thursdays. I put out this post detailing the field & publish the picks for all to see about an hour or so before Kickoff. Updates happen after each round of games.
The Monday Night Game decides the week’s champ ¾ of the time.
Once a Victor is determined, the post declaring The Winner goes up after The Monday Night game. Then, Tuesday morning the new sheets are posted and we do it again.
It’s easy. You’ll get the hang of it.

FOR THE WEEK
- the pot is $270
- there are 54 players
- There are no unanimous picks this week, but the majority like Cincinnati, Denver, Washington & San Francisco.
- it’s Week 1, so there really isn’t an underdog pick of the week, since no one’s played. Once we have some results, this’ll be a regular feature of our program.
- Since this is the 1st Regular Season Game of the year, there is no reining champ. But let’s give a special shoutout to Bock – last year’s lone repeat Champion. Really impressive stuff!
- Lastly, let me take a moment to recognize our Hall of Fame players. Both of you. The gals kicked some serious ass last year, each Winning in the Regular Season weeks, not including The Playoffs. And you know what? Both of these gals Win EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR!! If there is ever a Mount Rushmore in this league, these two mugs will be on it. So stand up and take a bow Chrissy L and Thelma C. You two are literally our best.
