The finale of the Monday Night games ends our week.

Not only is the excitement of Pro Football back, but so is the ridiculous unpredictability.

Each of these first couple weeks have featured some unbelievable endings – and (of course), some unexpected results.

But that’s what makes picking football games so fun, right?

And this week was no different.

With all of the wacky finishes, we had a tough competition.

This week we saw a Champion emerge in the late stages on Sunday and stay in front all the way to the finish line.

As per usual, there were plenty of twists and turns, but our Champ maintained, calmly navigating the turbulent waters of scores and challenges from the field.

With eight(!) competitors nipping at his heels, our Week 2 Champ did eventually get caught, finishing the week in a dead heat.

The Monday Night finals produced a three-way tie at the top of the food chain.

Given that scenario, we had to go to the tiebreaker: the total points scored in the contest.

As mentioned in the post announcing The Field, we are using the second Monday Night game as our tiebreaker:

So…having established the criteria, let’s crown our Champ.

Based on the total points scored in the Cleveland/Pittsburgh matchup, our Winner prevailed by one point over his nearest competitors.

It doesn’t get any closer than that folks!

Believe me, I know there were some tense moments tonight but I’m sure the result is acceptable.  Well done, sir!
